Hailian have fully realized the importance of maintaining a sound relationship between environment protection and economic development. They believe that environment protection is the prerequisite of economic development and set the environment protection work as the top priority item on the company's agenda. In order to achieve the goal of building a civilized and clean manufacturing enterprise and prevent the wastewater from being discharged into Xiang River, the mother river of Hunan people, the company has invested more than 2,857,142 US dollars (20,000,000 yuan) to build a production line that extracts ammonium chloride and sodium chloride from sodium bicarbonate mother liquor. After one-year's construction, the production line has basically and successfully gone through the design process, the capital construction process and the equipment installation and adjustment process, and now it is in trial production. After the completion of the project, the sodium bicarbonate waste water can be re-utilized, which not only prevents the waste water from being discharged into Xiang River and causing the content of ammonia and nitrogen in the river water exceed relevant standards, but also generates considerable economic benefits for the company.

After the project is put into operation, the company may obtain the following newly increased annual output: the output of ammonium chloride is increased by 30,000 metric tons per year; the output of sodium chloride is increased by 15,000 metric tons per year; the newly increased output value is 5,714,286 US dollars (40,000,000 yuan) per year; the profit and tax is increased by 714,286 US dollars (5,000,000) yuan. At present, the company is experiencing boom production and sales, and its products are well-accepted at home and abroad.
